For the life of me I do not understand why many of the same people who are saying that the Senate vote on tariffs is meaningless keep talking about the need for the House discharge petition on the Epstein files, which is even more meaningless. The Senate has voted on tariffs. The only thing needed is a House vote to end the state of emergency. Yes, Johnson is terrible, but that could be worked around with a discharge petition. To release the Epstein files, you would need the discharge petition, a House vote, a Senate vote (even though the Senate has already voted against releasing), and Trump would have to sign it into law. The view on the possibility of these two things is completely backwards.
