Nick's mom confirmed things that I saw as an attorney for special needs children, where I saw children who were normative pushed into special needs status because of what happened during COVID. But I was not expecting that all children were harmed by the increased screen time, the lack of socialization, missing learning. Of course they were not harmed equally, because in America these disadvantages always fall disproportionately upon the poor. But I did not realize that it was so bad across the board for all children.
Stephanie-there was a lot of trauma from 1914-1945, but it was experienced very differently across generations. I think it's fair to put WWI and the Influenza outbreak together, and to put the depression and WWII together but the four are too far apart. And the generation that experienced the depression and WWII growing up became the Silent Generation. Probably Silent because of those traumas.
