Thank you Dr Wilson for this article. I agree completely that unless we fully recognize the extent of the crimes on which this country was founded and the ways these crimes have continued to inform and animate this country, we will be unable to change the trajectory of this nation. The next step is atoning for these crimes including reparations and legislation to refocus on the care of our people. And then we can expand this process to address our global crimes against humanity. There is a long road ahead of us. I draw much strength from the persistence of Black Americans from enslavement to the Voting Rights Act. I see more intersection of different liberation movements now and more analysis of the role of white supremacy in all of this. This is how I am holding onto hope (barely).
