Hi Stephanie, I would enjoy your podcasts except for the unfortunate fact of my severe hearing loss which requires me to wear two hearing aids in order to hear anything at all; so naturally auditory venues are simply not something I can make use of; on that note I would be delighted to read a transcript if one is available.
This kind of content is what I need to get me out of my blue bubble. I want to know what news the Right is getting, but at the same time, not having to watch Fox News or Joe Rogan or YouTube videos about conspiracy theories.
They live in a different universe. As if it were a completely different planet. We need to find a way to tell them they've been lied to, and I think that could potentially happen on social media. By non-political folks.
We live in completely different information universes. There is no common ground of facts. And I’ve listened to Rogan and Carlson, interview sent to me by my trumper friend, to see how to rebut them. But my friend won’t engage with research or other information I send to him.
Exactly. I'm trying to lift up independent journalists and people seeking to make our information ecosystem more robust. Because even if the MAGA folks will never listen, we might reach non-activists, especially if we learn to talk about politics without talking about politics.
Feels like there are 3 levels to the game. 1) getting conned, which all of us are capable of 2) realizing and admitting you’ve been conned 3) getting others to realize and admit they’ve been conned.
The way I see it, assessing what are the real facts is a skill and habit that’s part of 2 and 3. But I take your meaning. Level 3 is the hardest level to play at.

Robert,
There is always a transcript available here on Substack, as well as video with captions on You Tube. I'd be delighted to see what you think!
Thank you, apparently I missed the transcript, I will find it and also take some time to watch the video with CC.

Usually you can find it in the comments of any federal officials' post...like a facebook post by your senator. I'll report it here when I see it.
Fucking idiots!

It is a challenge to persuade people who would have to admit to themselves that they have been tricked but tricked into enabling harm.
There are other reasons too.

It has taken FAR FAR TOO LONG FOR DEMOCRATS TO RECOGNIZE THIS.
I'm not convinced they're even serious and I won't be until I see them take actual ACTION.
