I’m 70, and still have trouble figuring out how to navigate it. Deleted my first comment, because it was based on your representative not using all ways of reaching the public, after I’d listened only a few moments.
Now I see that’s the whole point of this Substack: encouraging multiple sources of public communication! Encouraging public engagement with helping public-minded representatives reach out to the public.
“We treat people with respect” and could benefit calling out, or in some way tempering, those spouting hate.
In therapy, and in facilitating support group for Family and Friends, the thing that finally broke through for me is “they are who they are. Acknowledge that. Put up your boundary to protect yourself. It does no good to hate, AND YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST. There’s a reason airlines say put your own oxygen mask on first.
Things I’ll take FROM THIS PODCAST/SUBSTACK:
Focus on the main. A bunch of barely teenagers are tearing down our systems. We knew trump was likely to get his choices for his cabinet. The one that didn’t make it in had made too many enemies among republicans.

I'm not optimistic about this, because Indivisible hasn't succeeded. Money means more to politicians, the news media, and the courts--than anything else--that's true for Democrats and Republicans alike--and there is no way you can compete with this. The only effective communication would be a monetary one--DO NOT PAY YOUR TAXES! That's what I'm recommending right now. Do not pay your taxes until: (1) Trump is put in jail; (2) Musk is removed from the U.S. Government, and (3) Kamala Harris is installed as president. Otherwise, people are going to die from losing Medicaid and foodstamps, and their family members will be suing the U.S. Government tremendously.
Indivisible and an independent news ecosystem are very different things. Money, in fact, would be incredibly helpful on the creator side...because people believe things from people they trust. And the messages could be so mutually reinforcing on NON-POLITICAL content that they might break through. Indivisible is a completely different concept.
That doesn’t alter what I said. And when you disagree with people, please do not insult their intelligence. You made statements which, although true, do not respond to what I just said.
