from .We talked about fact that Fascist groups create a zero-sum, us vs them division, because grievance against a common enemy is core to the consolidation of fascist power. Our current fascist regime incites their MAGA base to view the fall from absolute White Supremacy as discrimination. They feel oppressed. because other groups are taking what they view as theirs socially, economically, religiously. Conveniently the United States has a long history of discrimination to draw from—racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, Islamaphobia, Homophobia, Transphobia to say the very least.
When you combine a longing for a mythical past that never was, violence to preserve political power, enforced loyalty by a private army, and White Christian grievance, lo and behold, we have Fascism.
HERE AND NOW. We’re not hovering on the brink, we’re not in danger of becoming, we’re not sleepwalking into—we are in a fully fascist America. And it’s imperative that we all stand against it because we believe in Freedom Over Fascism (funny how that works).
