Thank you for sharing this interview. You both touched on many facets of the situation in which we now find ourselves. For me, media has turned into a very dangerous promoter of untruths. A friend of mine listens to what I consider to be lies, and condescending placations of the reasons why the administration is doing this or that. She does not believe that any changes will be long lasting--she believes things are being done for a reason and then things will swing back to a different normal that will be better. I'm just sick about the power of the media to obfuscate the motives of these oligarchs who've risen to power. Freedom Over Fascism has certainly opened up a wider spectrum of what we need to think about--one or two topics at a time within our communities seems doable.
This is a welcome podcast. I've been looking for something like this. I will definitely share it. It's hard to keep up with all the Substacks. We need to consolidate some of this so that we don't go nuts. I joined an Indivisible group, and that helped a lot. We need to learn how to talk about fascism, autocracy, and the right-wing with regular people without sounding like NPR. To persuade without preaching. It won't be easy. This is a new game, and it was a relief to hear that said out loud. Thank you.
